Pre-engagement open for 0.9ha site in Lancaster Canal Quarter’s regeneration area to discover development opportunities [Deadline 17 October 2025]
Lancaster City Council is keen to hear from Registered Providers and developers with registered provider status in their business group for a 0.9ha site at Coopers Fields.
Aiming to enhance Lancaster’s role as a focal town, Lancaster City Council have opened a pre-market engagement to seek feedback on the delivery of mixed affordable and social housing.
With the goal of boosting housing, employment, services, and leisure, the vision for 0.9ha site at Coopers Fields should integrate with new public spaces and the larger area of Lancaster Canal Quarter’s regeneration area. The wider masterplan and development brief have been designed by PRP and provides a walkable neighbourhood at its centre.
Plans were adopted by Lancaster City Council in 2023, and they now seek responses on opportunities, risks and constraints of the Coopers Field element to ensure the interest of parties and inclusion of its heritage which dates to the canals construction in 1797.
The Pre Market Engagement Information Pack is available on the Proactis ProContract web portal ’The Chest’. Search for Project ref. DN783396 or title ’Lancaster Canal Quarter: Coopers Fields - Pre Market Engagement’.
