Concerns on the economic viability and distribution of attractions has driven this examination into non-museum heritage attractions [Deadline 17 November]
Historic England is seeking a researcher to study the economic unsustainability and inequitable spatial distribution of non-museum heritage attractions across England.
This study will assess whether there is an over- or under-supply in particular places or types of attraction, and provide an evidence base for planning and policy.
Beyond pure quantitative analysis, the study will examine the relationship between supply and demand in the heritage sector, analyse visitor drivers, and explore markets for alternative or additional uses for heritage spaces that might better serve the public.
Suggestions should be made for additional, or alternative use for heritage sites that will better serve the public and boost economy. This should coincide with providing evidence for planning and policy.
