The Group Stage Draw for the Built World Cup 2026 takes place at Shoreditch pub, the Horse & Groom on 28 April at 6pm to determine who will be going head-to-head at the charity football tournament. Supporters from across the built environment industry are invited to come together for fun, refreshments and fundraising as they watch the 24 teams picked from a hat.
Founded to support rebuilding initiatives in Ukraine, Tom Hawkins of ING Media and James MacLeod, co-founder of The Developer, Festival of Place and The Pineapples, launched the Built World Cup in 2025 to invite mixed-gendered teams from across the built environment sector to don their football boots and get donating.
“There’s only one football world cup that matters in 2026 and it’s the Built World Cup. We were overwhelmed by all the positive feedback we had for the first tournament, with everyone insisting we come back again for 2026, so we’ve been counting down the days to this moment,” says Hawkins.
The tournament will take place at Shoreditch Powerleague on Friday 8 May 2026 where the competition will determine if 2025 champions, PRP Architects, can hold on to their title.
Five teams are making their debut this year with 19 teams returning from the 2025 football competition. All are hoping to win the coveted golden pineapple trophy and raise over £10,000 in support of Ukraine.
Teams for the 2026 tournament have been announced as tournament “host”, ING, takes the #1 ball for the draw.

Alona Krytsuk, co-founder and director of BRAVE to Rebuild, says, “BRAVE to Rebuild is happy to join the Built World Cup initiative that will help us to fund rehabilitation projects that we are currently running in Ukraine. It is our strong belief that the support of our friends from all over the world, and in particular Great Britain, is the source of our nation’s strength and resilience.”
