Conwy Borough Council seek an integrated design team for refurbishment of major cultural facility

An architect-led design team, composed of a Theatre Consultant, Access Consultant, Acoustic Consultant and Principal Designer is being sought by Conwy Borough Council.

With design works programmed to start in March 2026, upgrades to the Venue Cymru, Llandudno, will enhance the venues success as a tourist destination by forming a new and improved culture hub.

Works will be funded by the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme which sees a £2m investment.

The aging audience demographic and 30-years of operation means various refurbishment works are to be completed.

Extensions to the existing foyer will provide additional space for a bar, café or restaurant whilst works inside the auditorium include seating replacement and ventilation improvements.
